Kale chips

This tasty treat is an easy, healthy, and super-fun way to eat your hearty greens

This tasty treat packs a powerful punch of delicious veggies! My 9-year-old son gobbles these up faster than I can make them! Sprinkle on top of salads or stir fries, or just munch fresh out of the oven.

Serves: 4

Prep time: 10 min

Cook time: 12 min

Total time: 22 min

Ingredients:
  • 1 bunch of kale, washed and dried (I use my salad spinner for this step, but paper towels work too)
  • Coconut oil spray
  • Onion salt
Prep/cooking instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Tear kale into pieces while removing the tough kale spines.
  3. Place a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet or spray with coconut oil or cooking spray.
  4. Place kale leaves in a single layer on cookie sheet.
  5. Spray kale with coconut oil or cooking spray.
  6. Sprinkle with onion salt.
  7. Bake for 12 minutes or until crispy.
  8. Remove from oven and transfer to serving plate. Enjoy!

Additional tips:

  • Any cooking spray will work
  • Experiment with other salt flavors to determine your favorite variety. Plain sea salt, garlic, or seasoned salt will work great as well
  • For a twist, sprinkle hot chips with Parmesan cheese—yum!
